Yes, cross-border travel is possible, but you must request written permission from us before your trip. A cross-border fee applies to cover additional insurance and taxes. Please contact us at least 48 hours before your planned departure.

Cross-border travel from Portugal is allowed ONLY to the following country:

• Spain (Mainland)

[!IMPORTANT] Driving the rental vehicle on a ferry to the islands of Madeira or the Azores from the Portuguese mainland is strictly prohibited. If cross-border restrictions are violated, all insurance protections lose their validity.

To pick up your car in Portugal, you will need to present:

• A valid Identity Card or Passport.
• An original Driver's License (held for at least 12 months).
• A physical Credit Card (VISA or MasterCard) in the main driver's name.

If your driver's license is not in the Roman alphabet, it must be accompanied by an official translation. For non-EU licenses, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is often required alongside your original license.

Once you arrive at Porto Airport (OPO), collecting your luggage and reaching our shuttle is simple.

Please proceed outside between zones A and B and go to the second lane and wait for the shuttle buss with Klass Wagen logo written on it.

A security deposit (Guarantee) is required for all "Basic" rentals. This amount is held on a physical credit card in the main driver's name at pick-up. For Portugal, this amount typically ranges from €800 to €3,000 depending on the vehicle category.

Want to avoid the deposit? You can reduce your guarantee to €0 by selecting our "Klass Total Cover" package during the booking process. Note that a small hold of €150 is still required for the Via Verde toll service.
